The world’s most popular doll takes her signature pink style to the high seas

In 1959, Barbie® emerged on the toy scene as the original fashion doll.  Since then, Barbie has been outfitted by more than 75 famous designers and has starred in 25 hit movies.  With more than seven million Likes, she has the largest Facebook following of any doll.  Most importantly, she is cherished by little girls across the globe, inspiring creativity and imagination wherever her 11.5-inch frame takes her.

With a resume packed with more than 130 careers, Barbie is the world’s only doll that allows girls to picture themselves as everything from a mermaid to a movie star, a fairy to a fashionista, a princess to a president.  Her popularity never seems to go out of style. She recently renovated her iconic Malibu Dreamhouse® and in May opened up a life-sized Florida home, the Barbie™ Dreamhouse Experience, where visitors can explore her home, interact with touchscreen experiences and see more than 300 dolls on display.

Now, an exciting, magical departure from Barbie playtime at home awaits at sea.

Barbie has brought her signature pink style to Royal Caribbean International with a cruise vacation package, the “Barbie™ Premium Experience.”  The fun package includes Barbie-themed tea parties, dance classes, fashion designer workshops and more during the day, and a cozy, Barbie-decorated stateroom to curl up in at night.  Until the end of the year, those who book a 2013 Royal Caribbean cruise will receive 30% off the Barbie Premium Experience for girls age 4-11.

While Barbie doll initially graced the world in her famous black-and-white striped swimsuit and ponytail, she has since inspired girls of all ages on their journeys of self-discovery – on and off land.

Disney Magic Hosts First Call Ceremony in Miami

Newly Reimagined Ship Celebrates Season of New Itineraries Departing from Miami
MIAMI, Florida (October 25, 2013) -Disney Cruise Line Captain Robert Olmer and his shipboard officers today
hosted local port officials and community leaders aboard the 2,700-passenger Disney Magic for a plaque exchange ceremony. A maritime tradition, this event celebrates the relationship between the ship and the destination in honor of her first call. The Disney Magic now begins sailing four- and five-night Western Caribbean and Bahamian itineraries departing from Port Miami.
“We are very excited to bring the newly reimagined Disney Magic to Miami for the very first time,” said Disney Cruise Line Captain Olmer. “Our guests have told us they want more opportunities to sail to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, and to the Caribbean and Bahamas from Florida, and many families find Miami a convenient homeport.”
More than 3,000 Imagineers, crew members, and construction workers came together in the most extensive dry
dock in Disney Cruise Line history to artfully refashion the Disney Magic, adding new features and experiences to
surprise and delight our guests. From the addition of the thrill slide, AquaDunk, to a completely redesigned spa
experience and the Marvel Avengers Academy, there are new things to discover around every corner of the Disney
Magic.
After completing its Miami itineraries in early January, the Disney Magic will reposition to Port Canaveral to sail
three- and four-night cruises to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay. The Disney Wonder, its sister ship, will begin
sailing from Miami on four-night Bahamian and five-night Western Caribbean cruises through May. This is the
second time the Disney Wonder will be sailing from Miami since the ship’s first itineraries from this port in December
2012.

Royal Caribbean enhances Crown & Anchor Society

Crown & Anchor

Royal Caribbean will begin offering additional points for Crown & Anchor Society members that sail with the Single fare price rate in double occupancy staterooms. This means that if you sail by yourself on a 7-night Caribbean cruise, you’ll receive 14 cruise points instead of 7. If you sail by yourself in a suite, you’ll not only receive the double cruise points, but also the additional cruise point per night, which could equate to earning 21 points on a 7 night cruise. This policy was implemented on all sailings that departed on or after October 4, 2013.
