I thought the Ice Bar was great when I managed to experience it for free on the 2 night preview cruise in Southampton. However, no matter what the brand the bar is named after, I still wouldn't justify $20 to experience it. How can they possibly charge the same cover charge for a 30 minute stay in a freezer with 2 drinks as they do to experience at least 3 courses of fine dining in one of the speciality restaurants. I think its a novel idea but way over priced

I think the Epic is definitely a story of 2 halves but my glass is always half full and the positives far outweigh the negatives for me. The ship, despite being the ugliest ship to grace the seven seas from the outside, definitely has the wow factor inside. The food is out of this world, I love Spice H2O and the Blue Man Group is like nothing I have ever seen. Unfortunately, whilst the studio cabins are receiving nothing but praise, the standard balcony cabins are getting bad press. There isn't enough room to swing a cat, and one person has to jump on the bed so the other person can get past. I never worked out how to turn the light off above the sink so had to resort to taking my card key out of the electric point, cutting off all electricity completely, and despite there being 4 plug sockets, you could only use 2 of the sockets at any one time. In summary, the cabins aren't very user friendly. However, as I said, the ship is overall a winner - after all, you don't go on a cruise to spend time in your cabin...

Cruising has always seemed to be quite an elitist thing for a very select group of people, however this seems to be changing rapidly. This news is a fantastic way of opening cruising up to a wider group of people and getting them involved. Celebrity Solstice class ships are stunning ships though so Solstice sister number 5 has a lot to live up to - I hope these students can bring her on a parr with her sisters
